This week, I had the pleasure of capturing some striking portraits in the heart of Chengdu, specifically at the SKP shopping center located in the bustling CBD. The session took place at night, and the modern architecture of SKP provided the perfect backdrop for a series of cinematic-style portraits.
My friend and model, Fanny, wore an elegant black off-shoulder dress that complemented the sleek, modern surroundings. To create a dramatic effect, I used a spot light to illuminate Fanny, emphasizing her features against the dark, reflective surfaces of the shopping center. This lighting technique added a cinematic ambiance to the photographs, making each shot look like a still from a classic movie.
One of the standout locations within SKP was a textured wall with geometric patterns. The warm lighting highlighted the intricate design of the wall, providing a beautiful contrast to Fanny’s polished look. Her poised expression and sophisticated attire added to the elegance of the scene, capturing the essence of modern style amidst the contemporary architecture of SKP Chengdu.
We also utilized various parts of the shopping center to highlight different aspects of Fanny’s outfit and the unique architectural features of SKP. The reflective surfaces and clean lines of the building’s design played a significant role in creating visually compelling compositions.
Overall, this night shoot at SKP Chengdu allowed me to explore new creative avenues, combining fashion photography with architectural elements to produce a series of portraits that are both stylish and cinematic. I’m excited to share these images with you and hope they convey the sophisticated and dynamic atmosphere of our shoot.
